Muslim Evangelism
COURSE DESCRIPTION
An introduction to the basic tenets, beliefs, and practices of Islam with practical and hands-on theory on how to reach the Muslim. There will be discussion of the key theological issues surrounding Allah, the Qu’ran, the Sunna and Shir’ah law. Application will be made with hands on contact with Muslims.

MEASURABLE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the teachings and origin of Islam
- Identify the key characters in Muslim missions
- Build an evangelistic relationship with a Muslim
- Communicate a real burden for the Muslim world
COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Textbook readings, online readings, lecture presentations, online articles, and websites
Book Review
Students will read one of the books listed in the Required Resource Purchases section above and write a 1000-word (4-page) review of the book, adhering to Turabian style. They must summarize and critique a few themes from the book. The Book Review is due by the end of Module.
Final Exam
The test has 25 questions, is open-book/open-notes, and must be completed in one hour.
One page Shahada Report
A “Shahada” means a testimony. When you share Christ with an unbeliever, whether through your own story or through the teaching of the Word, you are giving a “shahada”. Students must write one page explaining what they learn from the minimum requirement of one witnessing experience with a Muslim within two weeks of the completion of the course.
Two Page City Study
The key to Muslim evangelism are churches planted in Muslim cities. Each student is to choose one majority Muslim city (over 80%) and do a study including two sections: (1) the details of the city including population, culture, language, population of believers, etc and (2) the history of church planting in the city.
Independent Study
Based on an approved topic, students will research independently a theological question concerning the popular and official beliefs of Muslims. At least eight sources must be sited not exceeding two personal testimonies and two website sources. Sections must include (1) the question at hand, (2) thesis statement explaining in a concise manner the outcome of the study, (3) the official Muslim belief, and (4) the popular Muslim belief. Each study will be between two and four pages.
