Pray for my sister

My sister, Leah Green, was in a car accident this morning at 9:15 or so in the am. She was driving a fairly small car and was hit head on by a plumbing truck that went left of center. My dad was on the scene, apparently called by someone who got ahold of my sister’s cell, and was able to help get her out of the drivers’ seat. She was by herself when the accident occurred. My dad said that she was alert and coherent when he was with her her leg was very badly damaged with multiple breaks, internal bleeding, and a bone sticking out of the skin at the ankle

She was flown from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital where an emergency team of doctors is currently working on her. They have found that she has a horizontally lacerated liver and a possible ruptured bile duct. They need to find out about the bile duct to determine if they should do surgery. She is scheduled to have surgery on her right ankle at 6 pm tonight. I believe she is awake and in a considerable amount of pain.

I wish I was there with her right now more than any place in the world. When I looked for a wife I knew I wanted someone just like my big sister. I’m not sure if she is the ultimate example of Tabitha from Acts 9 or if Tabitha was an amateur compared to her.

“Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.”- Acts 9

She works like mad for everyone around her, not wasting a second. She is famous for her energy for Jesus and hard work for others, her big smile, encouraging laugh, and can-do attitude. When I was a kid she always stuck up for me and showed me the ropes. The older I got the more I found it a comfort to know that she was proud of me. Since leaving for the mission field of North Africa no one has been a support to us more than her. My wife has no greater friend in the world. When we returned in an emergency in 2010 she had prepared a whole house for us to move into including painting, pictures, hard wood flooring, furniture, and a completely furnished kitchen. She had mobilized our whole church to set that up.

Those who stand to be hit the hardest are her husband and four kids to whom she means everything. The doctors believe that she’ll make it but she is just in such pain. I can’t tell you how much pain it is for more. I wish we could send two men running after Peter to bring him that by any means she could be immediately healed and brought back to the life of service she was before performing.

We were walking out the door when we heard. Now we’re just sitting here and will continue to do so not know what else we can do but pray and mobilize many others to pray.
